A Cooking Experiment: To Blog, or Not to Blog

Some people enjoy surfing, others enjoy painting. I've never been known to have any specific hobbies. What I enjoy are simple activities that more often than not, are confused for me "being lazy" as my mom likes to point out to me. When did watching tv, shopping online, and reading fiction become mundane? Don't get me wrong, I enjoy activities like surfing, yoga, drawing, snowboarding, etc, but I can't under good conscience say I'm a hardcore surfer, yoga master, artist, and/or next Shaun White.

I've always loved food. When I eat glorious tasting food, the last thing on my mind are number of calories. My head is elsewhere. I am on a cloud; my very own food-gasm. My body is frozen in place, there is a rush of endorphins flowing through me, and in a flash: the world slows down and comes to a halt and there I am with a spoon/fork/finger in my mouth and my eyes rolled back.

Cooking, Yelping, and Restaurant-ing are my favorite of all activities. While I'm no Julia Child, or Hazel Q., or a published food critic, I pledge with this public blog my attempts at mastering the art of cooking, becoming the Duchess of Orange County on Yelp, and ... overall restaurant-ing Pro.

And so it begins...

  3. LOL, thanks Jenna! It never really comes up at work, b/c no one else seems as infatuated with food as I am. Lately I've been baking a lot, so I'm pretty much fattening up everyone at work. The other day, Diana was asking for a recipe so her mom could bake it for her at home =)
