The Foodtruck Phenomenon

Food truck: (n) a self-sufficient kitchen on board a bus/van, that serves to order menu items in snack form.

Los Angeles is infamous for unique and trendsetting food culture, including the recent food truck phenomenon. Going to a fusion restaurant is a big commitment; you are allowing yourself to be seated and making that gastronomic leap to experiment the union of two culture foods; Thai & Italian, American & Japanese, Vietnamese & French.

These food experiments have gone to the streets of Los Angeles and Orange County, and has created a following of stalker like foodies. It has spurred the existence of websites such as ClusterTruck, where you can track these busy FTs by Google Map. The twittering world has also never been so loud about food. There are outcries of food cravings, shoutouts from FTs about their current location, and of course - the avid food fans who declare their undying love for deep-fried Wonder bread covered in PB&J, wrapped in Bacon.

With FTs, not only can a person be a daring food critic, they've opened up the average foodie's stalker potential. Twitter has become a very powerful tool for a foodie like me. :)

Happy eating foodies.
